This is one of the more appreciated and well-known itineraries  of Italy, for the typically Tuscans hilly panoramas, the cities of art and the exceptional wine.

You begins with ancient town of Montepulciano, famous wine center known since the antiquity, with the wine cellars opened to the public, Piazza Grande with the Palazzo Comunale, the Cathedral and the Church of San Biagio, one of the most notable works of the Tuscan Renaissance.

Continuing you reach Pienza, built as renaissance ideal city by Pope Pious II° Piccolomini, where can be admired the landscape of the Val d’Orcia.

During the afternoon you can relax yourself in the warm thermal waters of Bagno Vignoni, attainable in 10 minutes of auto from Pienza, or you can reach the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, famous for the Luca Signorelli’ frescos telling us the history of San Benedetto da Norcia.

Last stop, the famous Montalcino, with the strong fortress and the wine cellars where the unforgettable Brunello can be tasted. In the near it deserves a visit the beautiful Abbey of Sant’Antimo.
